4 injured, 2 dead after shooting near 27th and Dunlap avenues

PHOENIX — Four people are injured and two are dead following a shooting near 27th and Dunlap Avenues in north Phoenix, Phoenix police say.

According to Phoenix police, they responded to reports of multiple gunshot wound victims to find six total people shot, two of whom were confirmed dead when they arrived.

Police say there was a party at a residence near 27th Avenue and Butler Drive (close to Dunlap Avenue) when party goers got into a verbal altercation.

The shooting suspect allegedly left the party and later returned to open fire upon party guests.

The suspect’s identity is known to police, but they have not released his name to the public. Police are actively searching for the suspect, and say there is no active threat in the area of 27th Avenue and Dunlap.

The identities of the deceased were not immediately available, but police confirmed one woman, approximately 18 years old, and one man, whose age is unknown, were found dead on the scene.

The four injured patients have been transported to local trauma facilities. The extent of their injuries is unclear at this time.

There will be traffic restrictions in the area as police investigate the scene of the shooting.
