Revolver Records in downtown Phoenix is closing; last day will be in February

PHOENIX — A staple of the downtown Phoenix art and music scenes is closing after more than a decade in business.

Revolver Records announced the news in a late Thursday Facebook post.

“After 11 awesomely crazy years we have decided to ride off into the proverbial record store sunset!”owner TJ Jordan said in the posting.

“We have enjoyed being a part of all of our customers’ musical lives for the past decade, hopefully fulfilling our original goal of spreading our love of music thru what we believe is the best medium available…VINYL!”

The record shop’s last day will be Feb. 1, which happens to be “First Friday,” the monthly art street fair along Roosevelt Street in downtown Phoenix.

Currently, the store, which is located near Second and Roosevelt streets, is having a 25-percent-off sale, according to the Facebook post. Discounts will increase as the store’s last deem is business gets closer, the post said.
