On May 12, 2022, everything changed for Katastro. Following a performance at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre and on the brink of a busy summer touring with Iration, the quartet – Andy Chaves (vocals), Ryan Weddle (bass), Andrew Stravers (drums), and Tanner Riccio (guitar) – began working on new music in the Orange County, California studios of longtime pals Dirty Heads and noted producer Ryan “OG” Ogren [Doja Cat, Maroon 5, Kim Petras, Saweetie]. But on that day, a tragic car accident took the life of Chaves, their best friend and high school classmate, at only 32 years old.

Over the last two years, Katastro’s surviving members searched through hard drives and past recording sessions to collect any vocal takes from Chaves they could find. Until The End Of Time took shape as a way of paying tribute to Andy while allowing the band and their friends within the music community to work through their pain, proving to be both a healing and therapeutic process. The 14-track sonically diverse collection includes the previously released singles Good Time (feat.  Jared Watson and Duddy B of Dirty Heads),” “Museand Tell Me I’m Ok (feat. Jared Watson of Dirty Heads).” In addition to vocals from Chaves, the record, which perfectly showcases Katastro’s unique style, features a variety of special guests and music friends who stepped in to help including Dirty Heads, Atmosphere, The Maine, Iration, Rome Ramirez, Common Kings, and more. See below for full track listing.

Until The End Of Time marks the follow up to Katastro’s 2021 album, Sucker. The acclaimed collection, highlighted by their buzzy summer anthem The Way I Feel,” represented a notably more mature sound for the band, who were on the verge of greatness. The eclectic songs on Sucker embody the constant loop of life, love, hate and wanting to break the pattern, providing something a little more positive to look forward to when everything feels off. With the untimely passing of Andy and Sucker representing the last full-length album fully recorded with his vocals, everything is most certainly off, but Katastro is hoping Until The End Of Time and their entire revered catalog can help in the healing process and keep their sonic legacy alive.

Over the next 13 years, the four-piece – Andy Chaves [vocals], Andrew Stravers [drums], Tanner Riccio [guitar] and Ryan Weddle [bass] – issued a steady stream of music, mostly independently, releasing six full-length albums, various EPs, acoustic sessions, and a live album.  Throughout their acclaimed career, Katastro has amassed over 150 million total streams from fans worldwide, garnered media support from the likes of Alternative Press, SPIN, American Songwriter, Substream Magazine, Arizona Republic, and Phoenix New Times, had their song “Under My Tongue” featured in Netflix’s hit show Outer Banks, headlined national tours, supported Dirty Heads, Sublime With Rome, Iration, 311, and Pepper, graced various festival stages, and performed at halftime at a Phoenix Suns game during the NBA Finals. Following the tragic loss of their lead singer, Stravers and Weddle launched The Kamp Podcast in 2023, featuring stories about Andy, behind the scenes tales of life as musicians, the inside scoop on their music, and conversations with special guests.
