There are just a few days left before Ghost’s new album Skeletá drops and after some leaks made it available online, the band’s released their next single “Peacefield”. And if you’ve heard the singles that landed before this one, you’ll notice the 80s motif is continued with this one, even if it’s got a more upbeat and almost cheery sound.

I don’t know about you, but I’m really digging the 80s vibe that the album’s been putting forward so far. Having heard the song a bunch myself, I can attest that this one’s going to be a favorite among Ghost fans that really enjoyed Impera, though it seems to draw from the entirety of the band’s discography.

And if you think the uplifting sound “Peacefield” is consistent with the rest of the album, you’re going to be sorely mistaken. During a recent interview with Metal Hammer, Tobias Forge said this song in particular is supposed to act like a sort of calm before the storm that is the rest of Skeletá.

“Because the record is going to slalom into darker subjects, I wanted to set a tone of hope in the beginning. I wanted to add a hand to the listener: ‘It will all be fine, but we’re gonna go sideways now and go on a little trip.’”

Skeletá is set to release on April 25 via Loma Vista Recordings, but you can preorder that album right now. The band is also currently out on their huge world tour. You can find the full list of dates below and get your tickets here.
